Getting Fit for Teens and Teenagers

Having achieved illustrious athletic achievements by spending countless hours in the gym, I could speak on fitness for days.  This is NOT what this section is designed to do. Getting fit is part of building one's self-esteem and self-confidence. It's also knowing how to prepare nutritionally. After all, one of the  aspects of success is education, and if kids are not preparing through proper nutrition, then they do not have the ability to be as wide awake and sharp in class to complete the learning process.

We cover various nutritional aspects I employed while training and I share what I have learned. We cover carbs, protein and fats and what works and where there is deception.  For example, when I ask the kids "How much fat do you think there is in 2% milk, invariably they tell me 2%. When I tell them there is 24% they are shocked.  Where they come up with that % is that's the % of fat by weight not in calories (2% of that gallon of milk, in fat weight is where that comes from).

We cover basic training programs. Most of the kids are interested in HOW I was able to do all those sit-ups, so we cover different training methodologies.  One student said he wanted to break my record.  This first thing I said about goals is that you have to set them realistic and attainable, but he was interested I would show him what he would have to give and give up.  He quickly changed his mind.
